Royal Weddings

As we countdown to the Royal Wedding these very last minutes, I thought it would only be appropriate if we walk down memory lane.

So here we go...

The one and only Queen Elizabeth. She looks really beautiful here. I can see that my Aussie coins and $5 note has this younger Queen on them.

Prince Andrew and Fergie (and that hideous looking dress) now divorced but as you can see in happier and earlier times.

Prince Edward and Sophie with a much more nicer dress than Fergie.

Spanish Royalty, very nice indeed.

The most recent wedding of our Mary and Prince Fred.

And last but not the very least, the very beautiful, late Lady Diana and (U.G.L.Y) Prince Charles.

Don't you just love weddings??

*Sigh

The Short Model

Kate Moss.

She has had a good share of highs and plenty of lows (key her story about being caught and photographed smoking pot).

But she has come-back stronger than ever this month and she has proved the modelling and fashion industry wrong regarding her height.

She is short for a model. Sitting at just 5'7 which is 170cm. (I wish I was that tall...)

This English chick has ridden the success carriage for decades and has continuous to do so...with her many campaigns with luxury brands including Mango, Gucci, Versace, the list doesn't end.

So this month, she is on the cover of US Vogue. Looking stunning as ever in her photoshot. See cover pic.

And in the same month, is her nude photo for Brazil Vogue. (Google this because she's definitely nude and I don't want anyone's butt on my blog)

The Asian countries love her as well (probably because she is the only successful model that is closer to the general population's average height). She's on the cover of Japan Vogue's May Edition.

Her modelling isn't stopping even though she is 37.

Here is to more moss!

Purrrrr- fect!

She has ticked another item off her list.

Katy Perry has created a new perfume. Her signature scent and something she loves to wear daily.

When coming up with the name of the perfume, she played on the word and came up with purr, as in perfume and perfect.

So it's no surprised that in the perfume campaign, she has dressed from head to toe as catwoman (no doubt inspired by Catwoman herself).

The bottle also represents a cat. (in case you couldn't tell)

Let me take a guess, she likes cats?

And let me take another guess, she likes purple? (more than me!)

So what does it smell like?

Or rather what does Katy Perry smell like?

It contains notes of peach nectar, forbidden apple and vanilla orchid. And if you don't know what that smells like...it smells like another celebrity brand of perfume. I can't think of which one but if I do, I will update this.

It's definitely aimed at the younger women because the scent is so sweet, floral and very soft. But I might wear it as well (although I don't want to be seen with the cat-shaped bottle on my dresser).

So head to Myer or DJs for a sniff.

Meeeeoooooow! (lame)

She Shall be Known as Simply Kate

In recent weeks, we have been bombarded with endless reports of "Will & Kate".

Everything from their potential wedding cake to the potential form of transport to the wedding to the potential Honeymoon destination.

So I decided perhaps it's time that I pay a little attention to this beautiful event and share with you how the world has responded.

The Englishmen loves and hates them. Most are delighted about this event. Some hate that their taxes are being spent so lavishly instead of improving things like the health system. So I hear there is quite a bit of gloom in some English towns. (it's a good thing I am not planning a holiday over there as yet)

And the rest of the world, is going crazy. See below.

You too can get your own English Royal Wedding cake.

This is potentially what her wedding dress will look like. It's definitely an upgrade from Princess Diana's massive design.

Ok seriously, I hope they do have some peace and quiet for their special day and honeymoon. That the public and the rest of the world will respect their privacy.

Btw Will and Kate you guys are welcome in Australia!

What Jen Did Next...

The beautiful Jen Hawkins. Everyone loves her. The boys see her as one of the sexiest women alive and girls see her as the girl-next-door, all sweet and down-to-earth.

But there's more behind the appearances.

She's a business woman. She's goal orientated and watch out - because she's ambitious.

After winning Miss Universe, she was on our tv regularly travelling the world with the Great Outdoors and dancing ballroom(and having a few live-tv wardrobe malfunctions).

Once her Channel Seven contract was up, she bluntly said if she was to switch to Getaway, it would be lame.

Well guess what. She should take back those words because she has joined the cast of Getaway in 2011, alongside another former Seven face - Kate Ceberano.

So yes, she will remain on our screens.

In another projects she has going for her is still being the face of Myer. However, that contract is on shaky ground. Myer head, Bernie Brooks was quoted that he wanted to dump Jen because her team was very hard to deal with.

So the temporary solution was to replace her with another Aussie Jess Hart to represent Myer at the G'day USA Ball.

Looks like if Jen wants to be in press constantly for all the right reasons, she should switch management.

Perhaps her most controversial story was being nude on the front cover of Marie Claire. Her good intentions of promoting awareness for the Butterfly Foundation backfired because the story was promoting 'real women'.

As a result, Myer was unhappy and disappointed. Other magazines such as Woman's Day have dumped her from being on their covers.

But at least Jen still has Jake Wall and her millions in profits.

What happens if I wake up from a coma?

And I don't remember who I am...

I think I would try my best to find out who my family and friends were. Unless I discover it was bad, I’ll go back.

March Fashion Magazine Covers

This week, I couldn't ignore the glossiness and beauty of each one of these international magazine covers. They are all engaging in their own right and they are highlighting some new talents.

UK VOGUE

For the boys, Model-turned-actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley – is starring in the forthcoming Transformers 3 film – makes her solo cover debut with this month's issue. (She replaces Megan Fox...so what does everyone think?)

US VOGUE

Not shy of attention, this lady has achieved her first ever Vogue cover. Finally, the Devil Wears Prada acknowledges Lady GaGa's influences on trends and fashion.

US ELLE

Katy Perry in colour blocks. She speaks about how her first record company dropped her when she was writing and singing Christian rock songs. Interesting fact, she was blonde back then. Brunette definitely suits her.

AUST VOGUE

The one message for this season is that it’s time to be brave and embrace the joy of colour (I am trying to remind myself not to wear black every single day), whether it be with prints, stripes or just big bright bold blocks. And what better inspiration than that capital of colour - MEXICO! (Which is the location of where the cover was shot)

All of these mags are available at Borders and some available at the local newsagency.

Happy colour blocking or striping!
